LEGATE or LEGATUS
A Legate is a Legion Commander who is both a Senator and a fighter of Centurion quality. A Legate is to be addressed as "Lord" or Legate on the battlefield. This is only a Roman rank, but it will be observed. He or she has earned the privilege. As a symbol of their rank, a Legate must wear white cape with purple borders.
